Upcoming Exhibit:

Art from Newport’s Past: A look at the works by Newport’s notable artists through history

Exhibit Dates: June 23 – July 20th with an opening reception June 22, 5 – 7pm

Exhibit Description: This exhibit is being put together after years of public requests for such a gallery show. The Library Arts Center is working to collect information on some of Newport’s most notable artists over the years. Private and public collectors of these artists’ works are being asked to lend their pieces of artwork by these artists, many of which have not been publically displayed for generations. Our hope is that this exhibit will foster a sense of connection and pride to artistic connections in Newport’s past.

The Library Arts Center is looking for information on and loans of artwork by these artists.

Sid Bickford

Kenneth Andler

Andre Cheronnet Champollion

Please contact the Library Arts Center if:

You have information you would like to share on these artists

You have artwork by these artists you would consider loaning the gallery for the exhibit

You know of people or organizations who have pieces by these artists that you think we should contact to see if they would loan them for the exhibit.
